Talk about a recipe that is American to the core! This is a recipe for all American burger I've recently implemented. I use beer in most recipes that development as it enhances the flavors of a recipe and add layers of flavor. Be very patriotic and use an American beer making this recipe!
ingredients:
1.5 pounds of lean ground beef
1 egg beaten
2 cloves garlic, minced
January 12 ounce bottle of beer
4 c. brown sugar
1c. chili powder
4 c. The seasoning McCormick Grill Roasted Garlic Montreal Steak® Collection
1c. Pepper Lawry's® experienced (or black pepper)
2 c. butter
1.5 cups chopped sweet onion
2 c. soy sauce
2 c. Worcestershire sauce
1c. Chili sauce in Louisiana
1c. yellow mustard
7 or 8 sandwich buns
instructions:
Burgers:
In a large bowl, mix ground beef, egg, 1 clove minced garlic, 3 tbsp. brown sugar, chili powder and two tablespoons. beer. Making pancakes (made seven or eight small patties). In a well-oiled grill, grill burgers, Steak® Montreal seasoning and pepper spray on both sides of seasoned burgers during cooking. Serve on toasted hamburger buns and top with beer braised onion sauce (below).
The cooked onion beer sauce:
Melt the butter in a pan (not overheated). Add the remaining onion and minced garlic and saute for 5 to 10 minutes. Add half the beer and remaining soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, 1 tsp. brown sugar, mustard and yellow. Cook until the beer is well absorbed in onions and onions are slightly brown. Add the rest of the beer and simmer for a while.
